Find USB port and plug-in the storage device.

A new window opens, asking what you want Windows to do.
Select “Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer”.

Notice that an icon with green arrow has appeared on the taskbar (in the right-bottom corner of the screen):

Disconnect a storage device (on Windows PC):
When you are ready to unplug the storage device, DO NOT REMOVE DEVICE BEFORE DOING THE FOLLOWING:
Double-click on the green arrow on the taskbar.

The window opens. You may have more than one device connected. Click on the device you want to remove, then click “Stop”.

After you clicked on “Stop”, another window opens with the item you selected already highlighted. Click on OK to disconnect this device from your computer system.

After you clicked “OK”, you see that the device you disconnected is no longer displayed. You can now unplug the device safely without losing any information. Click “Close” to close the window.

You have now safely disconnected the external device. Remember that it is very important to follow these steps every time; otherwise you may lose data from your external device.
