Types of DL Courses Available

LBCC offers technology-based courses of different types. Here you can identify the different types of courses by reading their descriptions.

Online

A course that is taught on the Internet, Students are located off campus (most of the times at home) and use a computer, modem and Internet access to learn the course material, to interact with their professor and fellow students, as well as to complete practices, self-assessments and take tests.

TeleWeb

An online course that in addition to the Web pages uses video for lectures, activities and discussion triggers. Internet streaming video files, videotapes or cable TV programs can be used in this course.

Televised/Telecourse

A course that is taught through video broadcasts using cable TV or videotapes. Students learn at home. They watch the videos and work with a text book to learn the material. A few campus meetings are required for this type of course.

Web-Enhanced

A course that is on campus and use a Web site in addition to the class activities. The Web site includes information, learning and collaboration features and students access them before or after class to further learn what is taught and discussed in class.

Hybrid

A course that includes some face to face meetings on campus as well as online environment with or without video components.
